Washington, D.C. – May 14, 2013 – The following is a statement issued by United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW) President Joseph Hansen regarding the decision of H&M and other retailers to sign a legally binding agreement to improve workplace safety in Bangladesh:
Toronto – May 14, 2013 – May 17th is recognised as the International Day against Homophobia (IDAHOT), which was established in 2004 to commemorate the World Health Organisation’s decision to remove homosexuality from the list of mental disorders.

Toronto – May 9, 2013 – According to a new report by CIBC World Markets, the retail market for food consumed at home in Canada is expected to total $91.4 billion this year.
Toronto – May 8, 2013 – Tim Hudak and the Conservatives in Ontario are up to their old tricks again by introducing another round of attack bills that will further undermine fairness, rights and living standards for 99 percent of the province’s population.
Ottawa – May 7, 2013 – On average, women in Canada earn 32 percent less than men. That means that on average, a woman makes only 68 cents for every dollar a man makes. It varies by province. For instance, in Ontario it’s 28 per cent.
