A group of workers and communal landowners at the La Platosa mine in Mexico have charged the mine's Canadian-owned operator with union busting and violating a contract to share revenue and protect the environment around the mine. The group came to Ottawa to file their complaint against the Canadian company Excellon Resources, just days before the annual meeting of the Canada-Mexico Partnership in Ottawa.

Over the past decade, the Leamington AWA centre has become an invaluable resource and friend to the thousands of agriculture workers who work each season in the Leamington, Essex County, and Chatham-Kent areas.
On the May holiday weekend, more than 400 migrant and domestic agriculture workers joined the celebration of the ninth anniversary of the Agriculture Workers Alliance centre in Simcoe, Ontario. The Simcoe AWA centre is located in one of southwest Ontario’s most intensive agriculture areas.
Street theatre trial finds Mexico and its Vancouver consulate guilty of blacklisting migrant workers suspected of being union sympathizers
Vancouver, BC - May 23, 2012 — The courtroom was the doorstep of Vancouver's Mexico consulate, as dozens of AWA and UFCW Canada activists and community allies assembled midday Wednesday for a community trial and protest.
Workers at a specialized poultry operation near Marieville, Québec have become the newest UFCW Canada Local 501 agriculture bargaining unit. The new members work at a duck farm operated by La Ferme Palmex — a Québec company that specializes in the breeding, production and processing of ducks for the domestic and international gourmet food market.
