Toronto – August 22, 2013 – UFCW Canada Local 333 is calling on UFCW Canada activists, friends and supporters to support a petition that tells the Ontario government to stop its attack on more than 65,000 security guards.
Celebrate International Youth Day – August 12
Toronto – August 8, 2013 – Each year the United Nations' (UN) International Youth Day is observed on August 12th. This event was established in 2000 as a means of raising awareness of the issues affecting young people around the world. Now in its 13th year, IYD is part of the UN's broader World Programme of Action for Youth, an initiative that aims to promote the wellbeing and livelihood of young people through international action.
Railway car cleaners vote "Yes!" to join the union, UFCW 206
Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ont. – August 7, 2013 – Workers at Canadian Railcar Cleaners in the town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ontario are the newest members of Canada's best union after voting "Yes!" to joining UFCW Canada Local 206.
UFCW joins community for Caribana 2013
Toronto – August 6, 2013 – UFCW Canada activists, friends and supporters once again joined more than a million spectators, masqueraders, and community members for this year’s Toronto Caribbean Carnival Parade, also known as Caribana, held on Saturday, August 3.
