Compo Recycle workers in Quebec say “Yes!” to joining the union

Montreal – April 17, 2013 – Compo Recycle employees in the Quebec region of Chertsey are now the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 501 after a majority of the workers supported unionizing. Compo Recycle offers a variety of services in Quebec’s waste management sector.

Montreal – April 2, 2013 – UFCW Canada Local 500 is leading a tour throughout Quebec to engage union members, grocery store workers and community members about the critical importance of supporting local businesses that respect labour rights and build good jobs in the retail food sector.
Toronto – March 28, 2013 – UFCW Canada activists and officers joined more than 180 delegates and participants in a strategic forum this week about building a broad-based national coalition based on the values that are shared by the majority of Canadians as well as the labour movement – such as fairness, equal opportunity, and a safe and healthy place to work and live.
