Toronto – November 17, 2021 – Since 1999, the Transgender Day of Remembrance has been observed annually on November 20, following the murder of Rita Hester.

Toronto – September 24, 2020 – UFCW Canada will once again be commemorating Orange Shirt Day, September 30, with online actions in support of this year’s event. The Orange Shirt Day initiative began in 2013, following the St. Joseph’s Mission Residential School Commemoration held in Williams Lake, B.C.
Toronto – August 31, 2020 – Activists from UFCW Canada’s Indigenous Sub-Committee recently gathered in fellowship and friendship through a virtual meeting with Traditional Indigenous Elder Dr. Duke Redbird, as part of the Myseum of Toronto’s “Ask an Elder” series.
