Very first AWA centre celebrates 10th Anniversary in Leamington

Leamington, ON - May 27, 2012 - More than 400 migrant and domestic agriculture workers gathered to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Agriculture Workers Alliance (AWA) Support Centre in Leamington. Over the past decade, the Leamington AWA centre has become an invaluable resource and friend to the thousands of agriculture workers who work each season in the Leamington, Essex County, and Chatham-Kent areas.

New webCampus courses available in June

CNDH invites UFCW Canada to share insights at Human Rights symposium in Mexico City

UFCW Canada was recently invited to participate in a Human Rights and Labour Rights symposium and workshop called “Mexican Migrant Workers in Canada” at the offices of the Comisión de Nacional de Derechos Humanos (National Human Rights Commission, CNDH) in Mexico City.

Simcoe AWA Centre celebrates nine years of service to agriculture workers

On the May holiday weekend, more than 400 migrant and domestic agriculture workers joined the celebration of the ninth anniversary of the Agriculture Workers Alliance centre in Simcoe, Ontario. The Simcoe AWA centre is located in one of southwest Ontario’s most intensive agriculture areas.

Street theatre trial finds Mexico and its Vancouver consulate guilty of blacklisting migrant workers suspected of being union sympathizers
