CNDH invites UFCW Canada to share insights at Human Rights symposium in Mexico City
UFCW Canada was recently invited to participate in a Human Rights and Labour Rights symposium and workshop called “Mexican Migrant Workers in Canada” at the offices of the Comisión de Nacional de Derechos Humanos (National Human Rights Commission, CNDH) in Mexico City.




On the May holiday weekend, more than 400 migrant and domestic agriculture workers joined the celebration of the ninth anniversary of the Agriculture Workers Alliance centre in Simcoe, Ontario. The Simcoe AWA centre is located in one of southwest Ontario’s most intensive agriculture areas.

London, ON - May 9, 2012 - Two survivors of a horrific collision near Hampstead, Ontario that killed or injured 14 people have become the first recipients from a nation-wide fund set up by UFCW Canada and the Agriculture Workers Alliance (AWA) to support and assist the families of the workers killed or injured in the two-vehicle crash in February.
May is designated each year as Asian Heritage Month by virtue of an official declaration signed by the Canadian government in 2002. According to the Declaration, immigrants from East Asia, Southern Asia, Western and Southeast Asia have brought Canadian society a rich cultural heritage.
