Toronto – February 3, 2014 – UFCW Canada’s groundbreaking online education program, webCampus, has launched two new courses for the month of February. The free online courses are being offered from February 3rd to 28th and are available to all UFCW Canada members and their families, as well as our community partners.
Toronto – January 18, 2014 – Statistics Canada has released December job numbers for Ontario and the picture isn’t pretty with the province shedding 39,000 jobs, most of them full time and the unemployment rate rising to 7.9%.
A new public opinion poll conducted by Pollara Research on behalf of UFCW Canada Local 12R24 – which represents Ontario's 7,000 Beer Store employees – reveals that Ontario consumers overwhelmingly support the province's current system for selling alcohol.

Toronto – November 14, 2013 – UFCW Canada members and political action course graduates recently put their skills to work in Toronto by volunteering for pro-worker candidate Linda McQuaig in the city’s by-election. McQuaig is an award-winning author and journalist who is especially well-known for her work about the rapidly growing gap between the rich and the rest of us, and the essential role of organized labour in building more fairness for our communities and future.
Ottawa – November 6, 2013 – The Harper government has now proposed to substantially weaken the health and safety protections for workers employed in federally regulated industries and workplaces. The proposals are a matter of life and death and would leave federal workers faced with employer reprisal for refusing to do dangerous work.
