Toronto – October 24, 2019 – With the 2019 Federal Election now over, UFCW Canada would like to say thank you to all the candidates who ran in the election, with a particularly special thanks to the seven UFCW members who ran for the New Democratic Party.
Toronto – October 16, 2019 - Prior to being elected leader of the federal NDP in 2017, Jagmeet Singh was an Ontario MPP from 2011 to 2017, as well as deputy leader of the Ontario NDP. He was born in Scarborough, Ontario, the son of immigrant parents, and before entering politics was a practicing lawyer.
Toronto – October 12, 2019 – October 17 is globally observed as the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. On this day we raise awareness of the impacts of poverty and call on our political leaders to address this important issue.
Saskatoon, Sask. – October 8, 2019 – Most of the issues that need to be addressed in the federal election are the same problems that young people have been waiting for action on since we were born.
Toronto – October 1, 2019 – As Canadians become ever more concerned about climate change, Elizabeth May and the Green Party have been getting more attention from voters.
Toronto – September 13, 2019 – With the 2019 Federal Election campaign now underway, UFCW Canada has launched a new resource aimed at helping members and their families explore the key issues facing working people in this election, and learn more about where the parties stand on child care, the economy, retirement security, and more.
