Victoria, B.C. – July 2, 2025 – Uber drivers in Victoria, B.C. have secured a landmark victory, with the B.C. Labour Relations Board officially certifying their union under UFCW Canada — the first union certification of its kind for Uber drivers in Canada.
Leamington, Ont. – June 9, 2025 – UFCW Canada has launched a new legal case challenging Health Canada’s unlawful failure to protect agricultural workers by not enforcing safety data sheet requirements under the federal Pest Control Products Act (PCPA). Without access to critical information about the chemicals they are handling, agricultural workers are unable to protect themselves from hazardous pesticides at work.

November 18, 2024 – The Federal Government’s Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration recently released a report on Conditions for Growth: Reconsidering Closed Work Permits in the Temporary Foreign Workers Program.
