Toronto – June 9, 2014 - World Pride is a celebration bringing LGBT organizations, communities and allies together under a global structure. The event is coordinated by the World Pride Committee of Interpride and its respective host organization.
Toronto – June 5, 2014 – In 1962, Ontario’s Human Rights Code was enacted. As the first legislation of its kind in Canada, it protects individuals from discriminatory actions against them on protected grounds in protected social areas.
Toronto - May 30, 2014 - Pride Week festivities in Toronto, from June 20-29, will conclude with a huge Pride Parade and Closing Ceremony on June 29. For the first time in history, the city is hosting the first World Pride parade in North America. From now until Pride week, Directions will feature a six-part series on different themes encompassing Toronto Pride.
Toronto – May 15, 2014 – On May 17, 2005, the first International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT) was celebrated to honour the contributions of the LGBTQ community in advancing human rights globally and to draw attention to the issues faced by the international LGBTQ community.
