Toronto – November 11, 2017 – On December 17, 1999, the United Nations declared November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
Montreal – November 10, 2017 – UFCW Canada Local 500 activist Rosannie Filato has been elected as the new city councillor for the Montreal borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc Extension after defeating incumbent councillor Elsie Lefebvre in the city’s municipal election, held on November 5.
Toronto – September 27, 2017 – Over the last 150 years, Canadian women have made notable strides toward gender equality in our workplaces and communities, and each year citizens and activists across Canada honour Women’s History Month to celebrate those advancements.
