International Women’s Day, March 8 — Make It Happen!
Toronto – March 2, 2015 – International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated annually across the world every March 8th. The origins of International Women’s Day arose from the struggles that women faced at the turn of the 20th century, including dangerous working conditions, long work hours, meager pay, and no right to vote.

San Diego, California – December 8, 2014 – Dozens of members, officers, and staff from UFCW Canada's Women's Advisory Committee, National Office, and Local Unions recently attended the UFCW Women’s Network Convention in San Diego, California.
Toronto – December 4, 2014 – On December 6, 1989, Marc Lépine walked into École Polytechnique in Montreal and proceeded to shoot and murder 14 women before turning the gun on himself. Most of the female victims were engineering students.
