UFCW 1518 leads on “Future of the Labour Movement” panel

That was one of the questions that UFCW Local 1518 President Kim Novak fielded as part of an invited panel at the Canadian Industrial Relations Association’s conference, held at the University of British Columbia.

New Westminster, B.C. – July 5, 2018 – UFCW Canada sisters from across the country recently gathered at the UFCW 1518 office in New Westminster, B.C. to participate in a week-long “Organizing Training for Women Activists” course.
Las Vegas, Nevada – April 26, 2018 – Gender equity is now a reality at the UFCW Canada National Council Executive Board, as the council convened for the first time since a resolution was passed to expand and restructure the union’s governing body.
Toronto – April 11, 2018 – On April 10, UFCW Canada activists from across the country observed Equal Pay Day – a day to raise awareness of how far into the next year a woman must work to earn the same amount made by a man in the previous year.
