Toronto – August 19, 2025 – Migrant food workers are the backbone of Canada’s food supply, yet too many remain stuck in temporary, insecure immigration status. These vital members of our workforce — who plant, harvest, process, and deliver the food we all rely on — deserve more than thanks; they deserve the stability and rights that come with permanent residency. It’s time for the government to create clear, accessible pathways so that the people who feed our nation can build their lives and futures here with dignity and security.

UFCW Canada stands with CUPE Flight Attendants

Toronto – August 18, 2025 – UFCW Canada strongly opposes the federal government’s decision to halt strike action by CUPE Flight Attendants at Air Canada through the imposition of binding arbitration. The move effectively curtailed workers’ legal right to job action only hours after it began.

Toronto – August 13, 2025 – In July 2021, the federal government established September 30th as a federal holiday to provide time for Canadians to honour the survivors of the residential school system, their families and their communities, and to commemorate those who did not survive. UFCW Canada stands firm this day should be a paid Day of Recognition and Remembrance for all individuals living in every province and territory across Canada.
