St. John’s, N.L. – July 15, 2025 – More than 300 UFCW Canada activists from across the country gathered in St. John’s, Newfoundland, from July 13 to 15 for the 2025 National Defence Fund (NDF) Convention—a key event focused on strengthening union solidarity and support during collective bargaining.
Niagara Falls, Ont. – July 14, 2025 – The Young Workers Internship Program (YIP), UFCW Canada’s flagship training and empowerment initiative for young members, recently held its latest Ontario session in Niagara Falls. Designed to build leadership skills and strengthen the labour movement, YIP continues to inspire young workers from coast to coast.

Toronto – July 9, 2025 – The UFCW Canada National Indigenous Committee is pleased to once again collaborate with the Assembly of Seven Generations, a national youth-led organization, in gathering and selecting artwork to form part of the 2026 UFCW Canada Indigenous Calendar.
Budapest – July 7, 2025 – On June 28, Budapest Pride marked a historic moment: despite an official ban, surveillance threats, fines, and threats of prosecutions, the streets filled with a record-breaking 200,000 proud and peaceful marchers, including trade unionists.
Truro, N.S. – July 4, 2025 – UFCW Eastern Provinces Council Local 864 members at Sollio Agriculture in Truro have ratified a new three-year agreement with improvements including substantial wage increases and cost-of-living language.
