Montreal — July 11, 2024 — The United Food and Commercial Workers, Local 501 (UFCW 501), is pleased to announce the renewal of the collective agreement for unionized members of the Metro warehouse, grocery division Mérite I center.
Langley, B.C. – July 9, 2024 – Nearly 400 workers at five Highline Mushrooms farms in British Columbia have joined United Food and Commercial Workers 1518. On July 8, the B.C. labour board certified the latest group of workers to join the union: 210 workers at the Langley mushroom farm are joining the recently-unionized members at the Abbotsford locations.
Mississauga, Ont. – July 8, 2024 – The 960 unionized employees at Cargill Dunlop in Guelph have ratified a new collective agreement after 41 days on the picket line. The workers, represented by Local 175 of the United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW), began strike action after turning down a deal on May 26, 2024.
Toronto – July 5, 2024 – The UFCW Canada family of members, activists, and local unions has raised over $1.6 million this year for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, bringing the lifetime fundraising total to $51.6 million.
