Au cours des quatre décennies dernières, le Canada a réalisé de nombreux avancements dans le domaine des droits des réfugiés. Cependant, à l’occasion de la Journée des droits des réfugiés, nous devons réfléchir sur les obstacles que les demandeurs d’asile continuent de confronter et que notre gouvernement fédéral a refusé d’enlever.

Lockout continues at Old Dutch in Calgary

March 30, 2009 - In Calgary, 170 workers at Old Dutch snack foods have been locked out by the company since March 30. The major issues are a food safety clause, a union security clause, and minor improvements in wages and benefits.

Every day is a day for eliminating racism

On March 21, 1960, police opened fire on and killed 69 peaceful demonstrators in Sharpeville, South Africa. The demonstration was in opposition to that nation’s apartheid policies that denied the rights of the non-white population.

Canadians continue to lose confidence in Harper

March 13, 2009 – Earlier in the week, Stephen Harper tried to paint a rosy picture for Canada saying it was the last major economy to enter the recession and will be the first out of it.
